What will I be getting?

What exactly does mixed-media mean and what media do you use in your work?
The often undefined term mixed media simply means that a piece of art combines more than one type of material in a piece.  Instead of using just paint, one piece might be composed of paint, pen and ink, and colored pencil.  I use many mediums in my work – most often acrylic and latex paint, collage with paper and pages from newspapers and magazines, markers, pen and ink, and lots of acrylic medium to hold it all together.  All these components create work that contrasts the hard edges of print technologies with the feeling and gesture of the human hand.  My originals are either on wood panels, canvas, or archival watercolor paper.

I've bought my painting, will it come ready to hang?
Original paintings up to and including 30”x 30” or 24”x 36” on wood panels or canvas come ready to hang. Larger original canvas pieces ship in a sturdy rolled tube. They need to be brought to a framer for re-stretching. This is a process that should not be too costly or difficult for professional framers.  Contact me for shipping prices for larger wood panels.

What about original works on paper?
Original works on paper generally are shipped with a matte but without a frame.  If they are extra large, they'll be shipped without a matte rolled in a sturdy shipping tube.

What type of prints will I receive?
Whether you choose prints on canvas or paper, all prints give you the highest museum quality.

Paper prints are signed, limited edition reproductions.  They are limited to editions of 30.  They are made on a 100% acid-free cotton rag, heavyweight fine art paper producing crisp, clear, brilliant colors and rich, deep blacks.  They have a lightfastness rating of 100+ years.  Paper prints arrive signed by Susan, numbered, matted and ready for you to frame.

Canvas prints are printed on museum grade canvas with excellent reproduction quality that lasts from 100 – 200 years.  Canvas prints come stretched and ready to hang.  They are signed on the back.

How do I know the print is authentic?
Both canvas and paper prints come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Susan.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes!  Wherever you live, we will ship to you. Because shipping costs vary so much around the world, we do charge for international shipping.  When you purchase your piece, we will determine the most cost effective and safe way to send it to you.

How do you ship your paintings/prints?
All paintings are packed in materials provided or approved by the U.S. Postal Service or Fedex, specifically for the size and type of artwork being shipped.  Large paintings and paper pieces are rolled and shipped in extra strong cardboard tubes. Smaller paper originals and prints are shipped in padded envelopes with cardboard reinforcement. Smaller canvas pieces, both originals and reproductions, are shipped in appropriately sized boxes provided by the U.S. Postal Service or Fedex.

How much is shipping?
Shipping in the United States is free.  Shipping outside of the U.S. is determined by location and size and weight of work purchased.
